The award was given in partnership with UN-Habitat, recognising TAWAH's pioneering model of empowering women with certified construction skills while delivering affordable, sustainable housing using locally sourced materials.

The judges highlighted TAWAH's holistic approach — combining vocational training, mentorship, and community-led construction — as a replicable model for the Global South.
