Inauguration of the TAWAH Women Vocational Centre.

Build, Celebrate, and then Repeat!  Saturday July 1, 2023, was a doubly joyous day for TAWAH and Mhaga Village women as we celebrated the inauguration of the TAWAH Women’s Vocational Centre and the graduation of the first 28 women to successfully finish their comprehensive ‘Women in Construction’ training program.  The celebration had special meaning for the Mhaga women graduates as it took place at and showcased the vocational centre, whose construction was a crucial part of their hands-on-training.  Beneficiaries of the three houses constructed by the new graduates were also there for the celebration as were representatives from all levels government led by Hon. Mwanaidi Ali Khamis, Deputy Minister- Ministry of community development, gender, women and special groups and key benefactors including Swiss Foundation, Segal Family Foundation, ITV Media and Tanzania Commercial Bank. As the dust settles on the celebration we have already moved to the next step of the project, more building and training.
